What strategies have you and your group used to ensure that all members are actively contributing to group assignments? Explain how you communicate, divide responsibilities, and hold each other accountable throughout the process.

Our group has found the most success with dividing the workload first then letting people work at their own pace, only stepping in when we notice no work is getting done at all. Our communication has been very calm so far, and we have been able to function by dividing the work by natural margins, like each person writes a paragraph. Today we wrote an introduction to our paper. This will act as and outline fore the main points of our paper, and give us a reference to check that we are on topic.

What challenges did your group face while selecting and analyzing sources, and how did you overcome them? Be specific about how your group communicated and worked through disagreements.

We had a little struggle finding quotes for our sources but by all looking through the sources and talking about what points where most relevant tour research question we where able to find 2 quotes for all the sources. Today we finished selecting our sources, this will prepare us to write our paper effectively.

Reflect on your research topic and identify the most compelling issue connected to it. Clearly explain what the issue is and discuss why you find it particularly interesting or important. Support your response with specific details from your research.

The most compelling issue connected to my topic is the effect plastic surgery had on mental health. This part is especially compelling to me because there are many dynamics to how plastic surgery can both improve or hurt your mental health. One of my  sources talks about how rhinoplasty causes an increasing self body image while another states how many plastic surgery patients have higher rates of depression and other mental illnesses. Today we started choosing the final sources for our group. This will put us on track to finish this assignment on time.

How has completing the annotated bibliography changed or clarified your understanding of your research topic? Discuss how your sources connect to one another and how they are shaping your argument moving forward.

Completing the annotated bibliography allowed me to reflect and deepen my understanding of my sources. My sources build on each other with the way my shorter sources like new and magazines introduce some popular narratives related to plastic surgery. The rest of my sources then build a deeper understanding of how plastic surgery affects peoples physical and mental health. Today I finished my annotated bibliography, this puts me on track to finish my work on time.

Which part of the annotated bibliography (summary, reflection, or evaluation) was the most challenging for you, and why? Explain how that challenge helped you grow as a researcher and how it will help you when writing your research paper.

For me the reflection was the most challenging part of the bibliography. This is just because the other parts of the assignment came easy to me and I had to put more effort into making the reflections. This task will improve me research skills by making me think deeper about what my sources have to offer. Today we started our annotated bibliography. this ensures that I am on track to complete my assignments by their due date.

As you gathered sources, you were expected to find multiple perspectives on your topic. What differences did you notice between your sources? Explain how these differences helped you better understand the complexity of your issue.

A lot of my sources that I found today where more statistical in nature no the differences that I found where mostly in the demographics that where being looked at in that particular source. This variation helped me to understand how people of different races or genders are affected by the prevalence of plastic surgery today. It also helped me understand what ages are most commonly getting these surgeries. Today we gathered more sources which will put me on track to get all my last sources in class tomorrow.

Prompt: Think about your experience using GALILEO to find sources. How was this different from how you have searched for information in the past? Explain how using specific search strategies and evaluating sources impacted the quality of what you found.

Using galileo was a little different that google scholar which is what I usually use but the are very similar. In my opinion Galileo has better UI which made the process a little easier. Today I found some sources which put me on the right track for this project.

Political cartoons often use exaggeration and symbolism to make a point, and they can also serve as important visual sources for analysis. What is being criticized in this image? What does this source suggest about the issue, and what does the cartoonist want the audience to question or reconsider?

This political cartoon shows the USA (Uncle Sam) being crashed by the massive bloat of the American debt system, which was exacerbated by the Big Beautiful bill and trump. This cartoon also depicts Trump using the War is the Middle east to distract the nation from this disaster. The Author likely wants to highlight the consequences of Trumps actions on the American Economy/Debt. Today we practiced skimming which will help me with the research process.

Think about how you have searched for information in the past compared to what you practiced today. How is creating specific search phrases different from just “Googling” a topic? Explain how this strategy will improve the quality of your research.

By using specific search phrases you narrow down your options allowing you to complete the research process faster.  This allows you to spend more time working on your actually essay as well as giving you better search results. Today's practice will help me quickly and properly complete my research paper.

Your research question is designed to explore a complex issue. What makes this topic difficult to answer or solve? Identify at least two different perspectives or factors related to your topic and explain why understanding multiple viewpoints is important.

My research question is complex because it is an issue of free will. On the one hand you have the right to do what you want with your body but on the other, it is the government's job to protect citizens from potentially harmful things such as plastic surgery.  Today in class we learned about how to find sources and conduct research for our paper, as well as coming up with some things to look up. This will prepare us to have a swift and efficient research process.

Reflect on your past experiences with research in school. What challenges have you faced when working independently or in a group, and how did you handle them? Explain how those experiences will influence the way you approach this current research project.

For me, the hardest part of research is finding articles on the topic with relevant information. To confront this challenge, i with use AI to skim my articles for me before reading them myself to cut down on research time. Today we started brainstorming our topics. This will give me a good base for my research.

If you could plan the perfect spring break with no limitation, money, time, or responsibilities—what would it look like? Where would you go, who would you bring, and what would you do?

My perfect spring break would be out in the Louisiana country with my friends, fishing, shooting, and having a good time. This is what I'm doing this spring break, just with one of my friends instead of all of them. Today we didn't do anything, which will prepare me to have a ball on spring break.

McCandless set out to live independently in the wilderness, but his death reveals the harsh reality of nature and survival. In your blog post, analyze how his desire for independence contributed to his death. Then, connect this idea to your own life by explaining a time when you wanted complete independence or control over a situation. Did things go as planned, or did you face unexpected challenges?

Chris's denial of help was a leading factor in his death. By denying the help that was offered to him, he put himself in an unadvantageous situation, and in his case, taking those risks while going into such a dangerous environment led to his death. I once denied my parents' help with schoolwork for a semester because I thought I could do it by myself, but I ended up failing my first-ever class. This showed that my desire for independence contradicted my desire for academic success. Today we finished watching the movie, which helped me understand Chris's story more and prepared me for our test.
