How does watching the film version of Into the Wild change or deepen your understanding of Chris McCandless compared to reading the book? In your response, explain one key difference in how his character or experiences are presented, and connect this to a time when seeing something visually changed your understanding of a situation.

Seeing the visual adaptation of this story makes me feel more sympathetic toward Chris. The movie portrays his life in the wilderness as much more peaceful, and the explanations of his past do a good job of making him relatable. Today we watched the first half of the movie Into the Wild, which gave me more perspective on the story as well as preparing me further for the test.

Chris and his sister Carine McCandless had a very close relationship, even when he struggled to connect with others. Write about a relationship in your life where you feel truly understood. Explain what makes that relationship strong and how it compares to the connection between Chris and Carine in Into the Wild.

For me, my relationship with my cousin Hutson is like this. Ever since we were just kids, we've always been more like brothers. I used to spend weeks at his house when I was on the outs with my parents, and I was able to confide in him during these tough times. This is similar to how Chris and Carine share their tribulations ecspessially with their family between each other. Today in class, we read some of the book and did a comprehension worksheet. This will prepare me for the upcoming test on the book.

Based on the first 40 minutes of the film and Chapters 1–11 of the book, does the visual version of Chris’s journey make his choices seem more justified or more reckless than the text does? Explain how the medium (film vs writing) shapes your perspective.

By allowing you to hear and see the emotions of Chris and his family we see a more relatable side to Chris and make his choices seem more justified as well as making him seem more prepared. Today we did an assignment on the video we watched. This deepened our understanding of the film.

Think about a moment when your understanding of your family changed as you got older. How did that shift impact your perspective, and how does that connect to Chris’s realization about his parents in Chapter 11?

As I've gotten older I realized that my parents main concern is for my safety. When I was younger I used to think they where out to get me because they where very intrusive into my life. As I've gotten older this fact has not changed but over this period of time I now understand why they do this. For these reasons I can sympathize with Chris's yearning for freedom.  Today we did some paper assignments to go with our reading of chapter 11. These papers will deepen my understanding of chapter and its meaning.

Reflect on your reading of Into the Wild chapters 1–10. Which chapter stood out to you the most, and why? In your response, explain what specifically made this chapter meaningful, interesting, or impactful. You may consider elements such as McCandless’s actions, a key event, a theme, or Krakauer’s storytelling.

I think chapter 8 is the most interesting so far, because we gain more insight into McCandles's relationships and personal life. Hearing that McCandles actually wanted to settle down changed my perspective on him and why he did what he did. Today we took a test, I felt good about it.

Chris McCandless rejects a traditional path of success and instead defines success on his own terms through freedom, experience, and personal meaning. Reflect on what success means to you at your current stage in life. In the response, explain how success is currently defined (grades, college acceptance, achievements, happiness, etc.) and where those ideas come from. Then, consider whether that definition truly reflects personal values or if it is shaped by expectations from family, school, or society.

For me success has to do with improving. I think this comes from sports and the preaching of my coaches, as well as my faith in God and his teachings. Today we made connections between different things and what we read in class. This allowed me to think more deeply about the book and draw some personal connections.

Chris chooses independence over relationships. When have you chosen to be on your own instead of relying on others? What happened, and would you make the same choice again?

I chose to not ask for help on my virtual work and my grade started slipping. I would not make this decision again because my grade is important to me. Today we developed comprehensive questions on what we read in class. This will help me to understand what I read and make me think deeper about the book.

Choose a vocabulary word from Lesson 10 that resonates with you personally. Write a blog post explaining why this word is significant to you, including any personal memories or experiences that link you to the word.

For my word i choose incoherent, this word is important to me because many of my teachers are incoherent when they teach. Today we did a bunch of vocab, this will help me with my literacy.

For most of you, yesterday you took the SAT. If you did not, you will take it before you leave high school. What is your desired SAT score? Identify your top three colleges and explain why each school appeals to you.

I want to get at least a 1450. My top 3 colleges are LSU which is where I've always wanted to go, UGA which is my reach in state school and Georgia southern because I love the campus and environment. I missed class this day because of the SAT.

Twice a year we adjust our clocks for daylight saving time, but the change can affect our sleep, energy, and daily routines. Now that we have sprung forward; reflect on how this time change impacts you personally. Do you find it easy or difficult to adjust your schedule? Explain how the time change affects your mood, productivity, or daily habits.

The time change doesn't really affect me I think because I already have a bad sleep schedule. It dose kind of disorientate my internal clock though and I often forget about resetting my clocks. Today we read more and answered more questions. This will help my understanding of the book.

In Chapter 5 of Into the Wild, McCandless is strongly influenced by writers like Jack London, whose stories shape the way he thinks about adventure and wilderness. Has a book, song, musician, or artist ever influenced the way you think about life, goals, or the world around you? Identify the specific book, song, musician, or artist and explain how their ideas or message affected your thinking.

I cant really think of a time a writer or song writer has really inspired or shaped my life. The only thing I can thing of is learning a lot of guitar parts from bands I like. Today we did some questions about chapter 5 this facilitated my understanding of this chapter.

In Into the Wild, Christopher McCandless gives up many of his possessions in pursuit of freedom and meaningful experiences. If you had to simplify your life and keep only a few important possessions, what would you keep and why? What would be hardest to leave behind?

I would probably keep things like my phone and other things that I use often like a TV or car. If I had to survive with these items like McCandless does I would opt for more essential items like water, portable shelter like a tent, something to hunt and fish with, and something to make fire or cook with. I was absent today but I saw  that we are on chapter 4 of the book and we did a Writeable today.

People sometimes feel the need to step away from their normal routines or environments in order to better understand themselves. Describe a time when you needed distance from a situation, place, or group of people in order to think more clearly or gain perspective. What did that experience teach you about yourself?

I once decided to take a week and live with a buddy of mine. This upset my parent but it gave me time to reflect on the state of my relationship with my parents. I was absent today but i know we read more of the book.

After reading Chapter 1 of Into the Wild, consider your first impression of Christopher McCandless. Based solely on the events and details presented in this opening chapter, do you believe McCandless truly understood the risks he was taking when he entered the Alaskan wilderness? Why or why not?

After reading the first chapter of the book Christopher McCandless seems very foolish and egotistical. When he is met with someone more knowledgeable about living off the land he rejects his knowledge and offers for help. This to me seems like he was trying to fail because he is also described as smart. Today we red the first chapter of a book that we will be reading for 3 weeks. This helped me get a first impression of a book that we will be reading.

Today you worked on creating your Vocabulary Digital Cards in Adobe Express. In one well-developed paragraph, reflect on the assignment by explaining which vocabulary word was easiest for you to understand, which word was most challenging, and how creating your own sentence and selecting an image helped strengthen your understanding of the vocabulary. Use specific examples from your work.

I was absent so i do not know how to answer this question.
